Icelandic based designer Sruli Recht sells a motley range of products ranging from a typeface to a three meter long knitted coat to a scarf dyed in blood, all beautifully bound together by an aura of another time and place and the art of handicraft. Founders and designers Hëx and Hept melds grafic design, art and clothing in their Hixsept collections. With a background as graffiti painters the urban space is their ever present source of inspiration and the pigeon is the logo representing them. He is frowned upon and as a natural part of the city not being paid attention, like the graffiti itself . With the line “Le Terrain Vague”, existing in between the seasonal collections, they wander outside the borders of the conventional fashion brand and into the world of art, offering ideas and items beyond our expectations of a clothing line.

I recently discovered Ana Canadas, a Lisbon born Graphic and Fashion designer. These pictures are from her degree collection; she has completed a B.A. in Fashion design w/marketing in the Central Saint Martins School of Art & Design in 2009. You might have seen her work lately in the Vogue Hommes Japan A/W 2009/2010 issue. I warmly recommend her blog.
