Ricostru is a newly launched Guangzhou based Chinese brand with a women’s as well as a men’s line. With the t-shirt as a starting point the garments range from everyday tops to evening wear, all in a minimalist style using carefully selected materials with refined and subtle details. We had the pleasure of meeting up with Penter Yip in Hong Kong a few weeks ago and hear about his Fashionary. A great tool for any aspiring or established designer, this sketch book contains useful information, patterns, flat drawings, templates and more.
Besides learning about the book itself it was an inspiring conversation about how a somewhat unsuccessful design education was turned into something good and eventually led to the birth of the Fashionary in 2009. Today the Fashionary is available in selected stores around the world and on their website.

Like a treasure chest filled with hand-me-downs, fashion stylists Mikaela Edri and Neshat Golparvar worked with a range of vintage garments from Appendix Shop to create a series of fashion portraits with photographer Paul PJ Cheng. Exploring the possibilities with an open attitude, the trio created characters and evocative fragments from culture and society, resulting in a collection of make believe portraits.
